Susan Brown, proprietor, was inspired by the history of effortless, classic, comfort at her family’s homestead near Snowville, VA. Overlooking gently rolling meadows and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains, the property has been in her family for more than 200 years. While the original log home dating to the 1700s no longer stands, the present house, built in 1901, is situated above a natural lake fed by seven clear water springs—it was an ideal hospitable location preferred by the native Virginia Indian tribes for centuries before modern day settlement.
Today, Spring Lake Guest House is ideally located in the country outside of the Blacksburg-Radford-Christiansburg area and easily accessible to Virginia Tech, Radford University, the School of Veterinary Medicine, the Edward Via College of Medicine, Christiansburg Government Complex and the vast cultural and recreational amenities found in this thriving region.
Day Trips to Claytor Lake State Park, Floyd, The Blue Ridge Parkway, Jefferson National Forest, the New River, and Roanoke are all minutes away via Interstate 81 and the endless miles of country roads winding their way through the Virginia mountains.
